Looking to grow your career at sea with a company that values professionalism, welfare, and long-term development?
Gain access to a truly global fleet. We manage over 30+ bulk carriers and 20+ oil, chemical and gas carriers and regularly place senior officers on LNG, LPG, and container vessels. This broad exposure gives you the opportunity to work with modern equipment, multinational crews, and world-class shipowners — helping you build a well-rounded and competitive maritime career.
Your wellbeing is our top priority. To ensure the highest standards of care, we partner with BigYellowFish for mental wellness support, Marine Benefits for comprehensive health insurance and family protection, and International SOS for emergency medical and travel assistance worldwide. With Norstar, you can count on timely pay, proper living conditions on board, and dependable support from our onshore teams.
We hold biannual Norstar Officer and Crew Conferences. These gatherings bring together our seafarers, technical managers, and shipowners to exchange knowledge, discuss safety practices, and strengthen the bond between crew and shore teams. It’s a space for honest feedback and shared learning.
We offer hands-on learning through our in-house ECDIS and engine room simulators, along with advanced courses in Bridge and Engine Room Management, and safety refreshers. We also provide customized modules through industry leaders like Karco, Seagull, CAE-MCRM, and Marlins, so you’re always learning and evolving.
We are proud of our 98% retention rate, which reflects the loyalty and satisfaction of our crew. Many of our seafarers have started as cadets and risen to become Chief Engineers, Masters, and shore-based superintendents. When you join Norstar, you join a company that’s committed to long-term success, not just short-term contracts.
At Norstar, we believe that skills can be trained — but passion, attitude, and professionalism come from within. We’re looking for seafarers who take pride in their work, uphold the highest safety standards, and bring a positive, team-oriented mindset on board. Whether you’re an experienced officer or a fresh cadet, your commitment to excellence is what sets you apart — and what makes you a perfect fit for the Norstar crew.

Marine Superintendent
“At Norstar, I was exposed to a highly supportive and dynamic environment, where I could continually develop both my technical and leadership skills. The company’s commitment to professional development enabled me to undertake greater responsibilities, leading to my first command as Master and, ultimately, to my transition ashore as a Marine Superintendent. My experiences at Norstar were instrumental in shaping my expertise, confidence, and leadership abilities, significantly enhancing the trajectory of my maritime career.”
2nd Officer
“Wellbeing at sea, for me, is about much more than just avoiding seasickness. It’s the holistic sense of physical, mental, and social balance we manage to cultivate in an environment that is inherently demanding, remote, and often stressful.
Norstar provides crucial support in this area through excellent programs like the Big Yellow, Marine Benefit, and the Med Sea Program. These initiatives show a real commitment to the crew’s health and happiness, which makes a significant difference in our lives onboard.”
Chief Engineer
”I’ve been a proud member of the Norstar team for a decade now. While the competitive compensation package was certainly a strong initial draw, it was the company’s reputation for valuing its crew and providing long-term career opportunities that truly convinced me to come onboard”
We connect ship owners with competent crew and seafarers with global opportunities.
